Real country

Hunt places that actually exist

Every region is a real stretch of Australia, about 10 by 10 miles, rebuilt from real elevation data: the floodplain channels of the Mary River, the snow-gum ridges above the Howqua, the quartzite walls of the West MacDonnells and the gorges of Cape Range running down to Ningaloo Reef. The terrain, the waterways and the habitat each animal lives in all come from the real place.

4real regions, each about 100 square miles
25species on land and at sea
11weapons, from .22 rimfire to a .450 double rifle, plus bow and speargun
6optics, up to a 5-25x long-range scope and thermal

What's in it

Everything a hunt needs

Real elevation data maps

Ridges, gullies, floodplains and coastline taken from real terrain data, with water and habitat mapped across the whole region.

25 species, land and sea

Water buffalo, banteng, sambar, red kangaroos, camels and a problem saltwater croc on land. Barramundi, giant trevally and tiger sharks in the water.

Realistic ballistics

Every load has its own velocity, bullet weight and ballistic coefficient. Bullets drop, drift in the wind and lose energy, and shot placement on the vitals matters.

Bounties

Take contracts from the bounty board at each camp. Clean, ethical kills with the right calibre pay the most, and harvesting the animal is what gets you paid.

Outfitters

Spend your bounty money on rifles, ammo, scopes, callers, camo and a ghillie suit. New gear opens up as your hunter rank climbs.

Fast-travel camps

Find camps, ranger stations, lodges and boat ramps across each region. Once discovered, they're fast-travel points, shops and bounty boards.

Downloadable regions

The Top End ships with the game. The High Country, the Red Centre and Ningaloo download free inside the game when you unlock them.

Dawn, dusk and wind

Animals move most at first and last light. Keep the wind in your face, because game smells you from downwind and hears every footstep.

Glass, call and track

Spot and mark game with binoculars, range it, call it in with a grunt, roar or distress whistle, then follow blood and tracks after the shot.

Four regions

From the Top End to the reef

Start on the Mary River floodplains and earn your way south and west. Each region unlocks with your hunter rank and some of your bounty money.
